Exploring Moremi Game Reserve means going deep into the Okavango Delta and seeing so much of the wildlife it has to offer. At the heart of the reserve is a peninsula that reaches deep into the Delta and is surrounded by water. This is where you can expect to see giants like hippos, crocs, elephants and more, as well as the big cats that live here in great numbers. The Big Five is also possible here

Itinerary

Day 1Hello Moremi

We begin your tour by being picked up from respective hotels in Maun at 7am sharp, boarding our safari cars we will head to Moremi Game Reserve. We will break off for a light lunch on our journey to Moremi and make some rounds in search of some animals, passing through lagoons and pools along the river channels as well as flat plains. We will then make our way to camp late afternoon where you will find the tents already set up and hence you can enjoy you’re a moment to reflect on our sightings at camp.

Day 2Getting to know Moremi

On this exciting morning, we will have a hearty breakfast and then set off on our amazing Moremi adventure. Moremi is filled with amazing wildlife, and we will set off early in order to catch the early birds as they rise, hoping to spot animals on the way. We will then head back to camp to enjoy lunch and a siesta in the afternoon. In the evening, we will freshen up and thereafter do some camp activities depending on timing. These range from traditional cooking master classes, to making fire with sticks like the indigenous people used to do. You will be treated to a hot shower in the privacy of your en-suite tent and proceed to enjoy your campfire dinner.

Day 3Good bye Moremi, Hello Okavango Delta

Rise and shine to say goodbye to the most amazing landscapes with great memories to carry away. We will head out to access the renowned Moremi Game Reserve for some great game viewing on our way back to Maun where we will head to the mokoro station. We will board our mokoro for a leisurely trip to our campsite where we will have lunch and enjoy a hard-earned riverside siesta moment. It is truly a wilderness and a great soothing experience. You will get to learn a lot about this amazing ecosystem called the Okavango Delta, a UNESCO heritage site. We will then embark on a 2 -3-hour late afternoon nature walk. Upon return to the camp, you will be treated to a hot camp shower before proceeding to dinner around a campfire.

Day 4Enjoy the Delta

A fresh morning in the wilderness and be met with coffee/tea and rusks before heading out for a 3-hour early morning nature walk and become up close and intimate with nature. This is a highly recommended experience to start your day by connecting with nature. It is believed that this sets the tone for the rest of your day as you become one with the environment. Upon return at around 10am you will be treated to a filling brunch followed by a moment of relaxation and peace on the Delta. Once you have had a good rest, we will head out for a 3 hour mokoro trip arriving back in camp just before sunset. Some guests have meditated along the cruise, some have fallen asleep, while some have been perplexed about the entire experience. Upon arrival, you will be treated to a hot shower in the privacy of your 3 by 3m tent that has a private shower and toilet and proceed to enjoy your campfire dinner where are staff has prepared and ready to serve you as this is a non-participatory camping trip.

Day 5Travel Back

Rise and shine and say hello to a fresh early morning over coffee/tea and rusks! We will head out for a game drive at the crack of dawn with the hopes of spotting cheetah, a resident pride of lion and several leopards whose territories include parts of the pan. We will head back to camp around mid-morning to enjoy warm shower before a scrumptious breakfast. Once we have had breakfast, we will embark on our vehicle for a leisurely drive back to Maun.
